About me

Learning a language also means understanding people.

I am Jasmina Kodrič. I believe that we do not learn a language only through rules, but also through a feeling for meaning, rhythm and context.
My lessons are designed so that the student gradually gains more clarity, confidence and independence when using Slovene. Don't worry — I have many years of experience with speakers of different languages and backgrounds, so I know exactly what to point out to individual participants. Dozens of people have passed state exams in Slovene with my help.

First, I understand the goal

Every student comes for a different reason — that is why the work begins with your goal, not with a textbook.

I explain without complicating

I explain grammar through examples, comparisons and situations that you can use immediately.

I notice patterns of mistakes

We do not just correct one task; we look for mistakes that keep repeating.

Calmly, without pressure

Learning takes place gradually, with a clear plan and enough room for questions.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a textbook or my own materials?

A textbook is not necessary. I usually prepare the working materials myself and adapt them to your level, goals and learning pace. If you already have your own textbook, workbook or texts, we can include them in the lessons.

How do I know which level is suitable for me?

Before the course begins, I have a short conversation with you, based on which I determine your language level and the appropriate group.

Will I get homework?

Yes, by agreement. Homework helps reinforce the material between lessons. I adapt the amount of work to your time and goals — it may include shorter exercises, writing, reading or preparation for conversation.

How long is one lesson?

A lesson lasts 45 minutes. In a group, we usually conduct 2 school hours each time.

How often is it recommended to have lessons?

At least twice a week is recommended. For faster progress, preparation for an exam or intensive learning, it makes sense to have lessons more often, while also practising regularly on your own.

I can't make it to the lesson. Can we reschedule it?

We can reschedule the lesson if you inform me in time. In that case, we will find a new time together. If the cancellation is very late, we follow the agreement that we set at the beginning of our cooperation.

Can I send a text for review before making an agreement?

Yes, you can. You may send the text in advance so that I can assess the scope of work and tell you how I can help. For longer or more demanding texts, before starting we also agree on the deadline and the method of review.

How does the first contact work?

First, you write to me what you need: learning Slovene, preparation for an exam, support with primary or secondary school work (NPZ, matura), conversation practice or review of a text. Then we arrange a short introductory consultation, define the goals and choose a suitable time for the first lesson.
